Rob is a passionate advocate for the STR industry and its future as a valued and worthy core sector of the accommodation industry in Australia.  

As an owner of luxury holiday homes and partner in leading holiday rental businesses, Rob has a keen appreciation for the challenges owners and managers face in a rapidly changing environment and the regulatory pressures brought to bear on our industry by competitive accommodation sectors. 

It is Rob’s conviction that ASTRA should embrace all sectors of the industry, that the Board should be a forum for a diversity of views and provide representation to assist in our work to protect, serve, empower, represent, and promote the interests of our members.

Peta is an exceptional business woman, savvy strategist, life-long entrepreneur and property development specialist.

Peta has held senior leadership positions for over 30 years, run her own successful import business and been a trailblazer for women in leadership since her early days as MD for a Mercedes-Benz dealership, all while building a property empire, managing holiday rental properties, fulfilling board roles and raising a family of four.

Peta serves as ASTRA’s PR contact in addition to her duties as Director, representing ASTRA to media and working closely with journalists to assist delivery of balanced and informed commentary and messaging.

Joan is the director and licensee at Snow Escape Holidays, Ray White Jindabyne. She has vast experience within the short term accommodation industry and is an authority on legislation. Joan has played an extensive role in the submissions to State Governments over the past few years including NSW Code of Conduct and and the inquiry in WA.

Joan is passionate about ensuring members know their rights and responsibilities in an ever changing industry landscape. 

David started in short stay and holiday rentals back in 2004 in Talbingo NSW along with his wife and they own and manage 7 properties as STR. They are located in Cessnock NSW, Talbingo NSW, Manilla NSW, Salamander Bay NSW, Coolum Beach QLD and Midland WA.  The properties are across 3 states and 6 councils so David has first hand, practical experience navigating all the major state and local laws as well as legislation changes over the last 14 years. 

Lisa Emrose is the owner of a successful property management business specializing in the Melbourne and greater Victorian STR market since 2007.

Originally from a service background in the corporate sector, Lisa’s philosophy in her STR business is to maximise both the guest and property owner experience to deliver successful outcomes for both. Lisa is a strong advocate for STR managers and property owner success through excellent operations, high standards and great customer experiences.

Away from the office, Lisa enjoys family life, married with twin boys and two staffy’s, whilst finding time for a daily exercise regime that fuels her boundless energy.

David brings 25 years experience as a founder and business development director of a successful electronics manufacturing business. Since semi-retiring in 2007, David has followed his passion for hospitality and property maintenance, owning and managing a growing list of quality short stay residential properties based in Cottesloe Western Australia.

David is a strong supporter of light touch regulation in the industry and plays an active role in local policy development and support of short stay property owners and managers seeking guidance in Western Australia.
